Approach

“Sessions and content are focused on the here and now and what a person can do differently today, tomorrow, and moving forward.”

Though multi-theoretical, Erica’s approach is grounded in evidenced based theory and practice.  She feels it’s important to recognize that one size does not fit all, so her assessment takes a holistic approach with clients, addressing the interconnectedness of one’s body and mind, culture and environment.  Her way of working is very practical, not at all heady, and is focused on change that is both visceral and behavioral.

Erica believes it is her job to help people facilitate their unique forms of change, and that people often don’t realize how they have or can help themselves with the right guidance.

Erica works collaboratively with her clients to develop not only insight but most importantly, effective skills and ways of living to improve a persons overall quality of life, not just addressing their presenting issue (eg anxiety).  Historical issues can be a focus of part of the work though generally the sessions and content are focused on the here and now and what a person can do differently today, tomorrow, and moving forward.  The work is Individualized, with each session have a short term goal or agenda that is part of the bigger picture goal or set of goals.
